UFE results dreams begin

I had my first UFE related dream a few nights ago. I was napping – always a higher chance of remembering your dreams when you’re dozing in and out it seems – at my girlfriend’s while she studied.

Back in mid-September I wrote the Uniform Final Exam, which is just what it sounds like. The uniform refers to it being administered by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants – everything up to that point in the process to get the designation is the realm of the provincial/regional Institutes. It was three days long, totalling 13 hours of case-writing bedlam.

Anyway, back to my dream. I was at my girlfriend’s house in the dream as well, and I’d just received the results in the mail. (The actual results will be posted on the CICA website around 10am on November 24th.) I was too nervous to open the envelope so I had my girlfriend do it. I didn’t pass.

And that was it. I felt horrible when I woke up, but relieved when I realized it was just a dream. I anticipate many more dreams like this one before November 24th rolls around. It’s not much longer than a month away now, but seems like the distant future at the same time.

  1. The secret is to go on sites like videosift.com while your girlfriend is hard at work studying. That way your unconscious guilt won’t get to you and give you nightmares. ;)

I’ve had two or three UFE dreams since the exam, but they all involved STILL WRITING the exam.

Needless to say, the dreams were trippy, hilarious, and, to be redundant, totally surreal.

  2. You really need to branch out more with your dreams. Adopt the CMA philosophy towards accounting with respect to your dreams. ;)

  3. Hey Neil…I wrote this year too…and have had some pretty random dreams as well…some good and some bad…and some with pink elephants and weird shit like that.

Good luck man…just a few more days.

  4. I had a crazy UFE results dream last night. I dreamt that I was at the UFE Results Center (a figment of my imagination) with thousands of other people waiting in line in front of this massive computer screen. Each person would walk up to this computer and click on the letter that corresponded to their last name and scroll down the screen to see if their name was on the list. Well….I get to the front of the line and scroll down the screen and see my name but it’s spelled wrong. At this point I start freaking out not sure if I passed. Mind you I have a long uncommon Greek last name so the odds of it being someone else are slim. I ran around the Results Center looking for someone from the ICAO to confirm that it was in fact my name but before I could find anyone….I woke up in a sweaty panic. I looked over to my alarm clock…the time was 5:45 am. Needless to say I didn’t fall back asleep.

  5. Yes it’s that time of the year again when a new crop of writers will be experiencing their own sleepy visions of pass or fail.

I hope you pass George, thanks for sharing your dream!
